Acer pushes Ice Lake into the entry level. While Intel’s 10th generation processors made their debut late last year, Acer today unveils a more affordable model with the latest foundry chips.
With this new model in its Aspire series, Acer offers us what could be one of the good deals of this summer. This 15.6 inch Full HD laptop offers a 512 GB SSD, 8 GB of RAM, and a rather complete connection (HDMI, Ethernet, 4 USB including 1 Type-C). It has an anti-reflective matte IPS panel and displays less than 2 kg for an advertised price of € 699. It is therefore positioned as a more affordable alternative to premium ultrabooks of the same format such as the LG Gram.
For those who want an affordable 15.6 inch format without needing a gaming laptop, it could be a new entry-level benchmark against Huawei’s Matebook 14 or Vivobook S14 from Asus . The 2019 model was already a reference at the entry level despite a screen lacking a little brightness. We therefore hope that the panel chosen by Acer this year will improve this point.
