n evolution of the 720 model
The recent Lenovo Yoga 730 is an evolution of the model of last year, with the acronym 720, which also recalls the forms.
You have to look closely at the two models and show off with great memory to be able to notice the subtle differences.
The new Lenovo Yoga 730 is built like a true 2 in 1, but without the option to remove the keyboard, as happens in some market model. In this case, however, you can make a complete rotation of the screen until you use the computer as a real tablet.
Because this is possible, of course, the screen is touch, we come back later.
Pay close attention to the model you buy, because the equipment of the doors can change and much. In the model I tested, there are two USB 3.0 ports, a thunderbolt 3.0, an audio jack and the dedicated charging port.
In the upper models, the range of ports changes and there are two thunderbolt ports with a single USB 3.0.
Display
Good quality, with IPS standard, but readability in sunlight a bit ‘reduced, with average brightness of 300 nits for the opening outdoors are a bit’ few.
The most complicated conditions are those in the sunlight or on an outdoor day with a lot of cloudiness. Inside, on the other hand, the screen reads very well and the positioning angles are practically infinite thanks to the excellent quality hinge that connects it to the camera body.
The touch screen is fast and responsive, the model size I tested is 13.3 inches, but there is also a version (more expensive, of course) with a 15.6-inch display.
There are 4 combinations of the screen: with 13.3-inch diagonal full HD or 4K, 15.6-inch always fullHD or 4K.
Performance
To look like one of the good ones, I made a couple of benchmarks and the results were more than positive. In general the new Lenovo Yoga 730
The model I tested is with Intel i5 and 8 GB of RAM, the basic equipment available, which made me somehow think of the legendary Fiat Uno for its concreteness and the ability to adapt a bit ‘to everything that I have made make.
Only if put under stress, in a couple of benchmarks got a lower score when subjected to the maximum work load. For fans, the test is Cinebench R15.
But I doubt that the vast majority of users ever use that type of load for this type of product.
single CMOS cameras
As is normal for a product of this type, the new Lenovo Yoga 730
He has no desire to take pictures, which is not the reason why it is used.
Battery
The battery of the Lenovo Yoga 730 promises 11.5 hours of operation and in fact I managed to spend even a whole day without ever needing to load. In the case where you need more energy, there is the rapid charge ,
The battery is the aspect of which I almost forgot because it has always worked great and has never given me cause for concern.
Fingerprint and fingerprint sensor
The keyboard is one of the fine details of the new Yoga 730: spacious, with a soft and comfortable ride to use when you type.
The ergonomics of this computer is excellent and even using it for a long time or typing very long texts I have always found my position bearable without pain or other discomfort.
For the work I do with the computer this is one of the fundamental aspects, since writing texts and navigation are a large part of what I do, together with the production of video.
Touchpad super spacious and sensitive, as well as the fingerprint sensor is comfortable, which for me now is an almost inalienable detail. Only by proving it will you discover how the elimination of passwords is a kind of manna from heaven.
One detail, however, that I emphasize is that to open this notebook takes two hands. A bit ‘for the right “stiffness” of the hinges, a bit’ for the size and if you also want the weight that is not particularly high, but if you want to adjust the screen or rotate, you always need two hands.
Discrete audio, but JBL can do more
The sound of the Lenovo Yoga 730 is made with JBL speaker. The sound is discreet, but nothing more than “normal”.
Good volume and definition of audio in the standard. This is one of those details that I would define without infamy and without praise.
